This knowledgebase article provides information about how to enable and disable the Low Bandwidth Module (LBM).


More Information

During installation, you will be given the opportunity to enable the Low Bandwidth Module if you have a license key authorizing LBM. If you select the check box, the Neverfail Channel will optimize communications  for low bandwidth connections, which are typical in a WAN configuration. With some additional CPU load, it will also compress the data that is transfered . You should not select this check box if you intend to run Neverfail in a LAN environment.

Procedure

How to Enable LBM

This option will only be available with a license key authorizing the Low Bandwidth Module.

If you do not select the check box during installation, you can enable Neverfail Low Bandwith Module via the Server Configuration wizard.

  1. Stop Neverfail Heartbeat to make configuration changes.
  2. Open the Server Configuration wizard
  3. Select the Channel tab
  4. Select the Enable check box in the Low Bandwidth Optimisation section.
  5. Select Finish
  6. Restart Neverfail Heartbeat to start the Low Bandwidth Module.

How to Disable LBM

  1. Stop Neverfail Heartbeat to make configuration changes
  2. Open the Server Configuration wizard
  3. Select the Channel tab
  4. Clear the Low Bandwidth Optimization check box
  5. Select Finish
  6. Restart Neverfail Heartbeat to disable the Low Bandwidth Module.
