Introduction

This Knowledge Base article explains the protection offered by this particular AM(X). There is a sister article ( 859 ) that lists all the versions of the AM(X) that we have produced so far and the versions of related supported software; there are links from that sister article to (usually brief) articles that explain the unique features of each version.

Abstract

FileMaker Server 8 Advanced WebPublishing software allows database content from FileMaker Servers to be published to IIS Web Sites. The AM(X) provides protection for the Web Publishing Core and the Web Publishing Module.  These components can be deployed in several ways

Ø O n the same server, in which case only Neverfail for IIS is required;

Ø O n seperate servers.  In this instance the server hosting the Web Publishing Module will require Neverfail for IIS and the server hosting the Web Publishing Core will require Neverfail for File Server to be present.

Protected Services

This is a list of all services protected by this AM(X).  Please note that where an AM(X) supports multiple vendor versions, some services may not be present in a particular version.

Ø FileMaker Publishing Engine (CWPE & CONFIG)

Ø FileMaker Publishing Engine (WPC )

Unless otherwise stated all services are set to manual and will be started and stopped by the application manager.

Protected Data

This is a description of the protected data set that was determined at AM(X) install time. Please note that exact filters will be based on the configuration of the application at the moment that the AM(X) was installed.

Ø All registry data and configuration information;

Ø Web Publishing directory;

Automatic Filter Discovery

The AM(X) does not provide a filter discovery component. The AM(X) will need to be reinstalled according to KB 462 if the location into which the application was installed is changed.
