Follow

Summary

This Knowledgebase article describes an expected behavior with Neverfail Heartbeat following an upgrade.

More Information

Symptoms

After an upgrade of Neverfail Heartbeat, a warning similar to the following may appear in the NFLog.txt:

"java.text.ParseException: Unparseable date"

Causes

On startup, the Neverfail Heartbeat CommsMgr component deletes all the logs in the "%installdir%Neverfail\R2\LOG" directory but cannot delete files that it doesn't consider to be true log files.

Resolution

To address this issue Neverfail recommends a clean up of old log information.

To do this:

  1. From a command prompt, run a command similar to "del /s c:\Neverfail\R2\log\*-*.log" where "C:\Neverfail" must be the location Neverfail Heartbeat is installed. This will remove the log information causing a problem.
  2. Verify that no log information exists under "%installdir%Neverfail\R2\LOG" on either the active or passive server.
