This article contains details of how to upgrade a Neverfail for SharePoint server.

In order to upgrade a Neverfail Heartbeat for SharePoint server pair with the latest service pack you will need to follow these instructions.

These instructions assume that the Primary server is active and the Secondary Server is passive.

1. Shutdown Neverfail Heartbeat with the Primary as Active and the Secondary Server is Passive.
2. Opt to leave the protected application running.
3. Apply the service pack to the Primary server.
4. Once the service pack installation has completed open up Service Control Manager and check that all SharePoint services are set to "Manual" and not "Automatic". For a complete list refer to Neverfail Application Monitor Configuration GUI.
5. Reboot.
6. Allow the server to boot and start SharePoint.
7. Check that SharePoint has started successfully.
8. Apply the service pack to the Secondary server.
9. Once the service pack installation has completed open up Service Control Manager and check that all SharePoint services are set to "Manual" and not "Automatic". For a complete list refer to Neverfail Application Monitor Configuration GUI.
10. Reboot the passive server.
11. Check that the IISAdmin service is stopped on the Secondary server.
12. Open up the Neverfail Management Client and confirm that the Full System Check is running.

Optional
13. Once the Full System Check has completed perform a switch over to check that the Secondary server can start the recently upgraded SharePoint installation.
