BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

- Please ensure you have read and fully understood the instructions below BEFORE attempting to install the update.

- It is necessary to reboot both servers during the upgrade process, as Neverfail Heartbeat drivers are updated on both Active and Passive servers; so a small amount of downtime will be incurred.

- Data Rollback Module is a available from V4.5 of Neverfail Heartbeat. License keys issues for V4.4 do NOT allow the use of DRM functionality. Before running the procedure below, please obtain a Data Rollback Module-enabled license key from the Neverfail Extranet, either directly or via your Channel Partner.


To upgrade Neverfail Heartbeat version V4.4 to V4.5 and enable the Data Rollback Module, complete the steps below:

On a remote client PC, or the ACTIVE server, as appropriate:

1. Download Z-Sw-H-V4.5-update-from-V4.4.zip from the appropriate product area of the Neverfail Partner Extranet and extract the contents to a folder. Copy this folder (referred to below as the 'update kit' folder) to both of the servers in your Neverfail pair, and to any remote client PCs running the Neverfail Heartbeat Management Client.

2. Shutdown Neverfail Heartbeat, and close any other applications you may have open on the Active and Passive servers.

3. Close all remaining instances of the Neverfail Server Pairs Overview window, and any other applications you may have open, on any client PCs.

4. On the passive server (normally the Secondary):

(i) To enable Data Rollback Module functionality:

- Right-click on the Neverfail System Tray icon, and select 'Configure Server Wizard'.
- Select the 'License' tab from the Server Configuration screen.
- Add your Data Rollback Module-enabled license key, as follows:

¤ Click the 'Add a new row' icon. This will add a new row below the current license. Please note that you should not remove any existing licenses
¤ Double-click within the new row and type or copy the license key into this row. Press return when finished to enter the license.
¤ Once the license has been validated (as above) Click 'Finish'.

(ii) To apply the update software

- Run the Setup.exe program in the update kit folder.
- On the "Setup Type" screen, select "Install Service Pack" and "Next>"
- On the "Service Pack Configuration" screen, select "Add..." and then browse to the sp4_5.amx file in the update kit folder.
- For the remaining steps follow the instructions on the screen.

You will be asked to reboot this server after applying the update.

5. On the active server (normally the Primary):

(i) To enable Data Rollback Module functionality:

- Right-click on the Neverfail System Tray icon, and select 'Configure Server Wizard'.
- Select the 'License' tab from the Server Configuration screen.
- Add your Data Rollback Module-enabled license key, as follows:

¤ Click the 'Add a new row' icon. This will add a new row below the current license. Please note that you should not remove any existing licenses
¤ Double-click within the new row and type or copy the license key into this row. Press return when finished to enter the license.
¤ Once the license has been validated (as above) Click 'Finish'.

(ii) To apply the update software

- Run the Setup.exe program in the patch kit folder.
- On the "Setup Type" screen, select "Install Service Pack" and "Next>"
- On the "Service Pack Configuration" screen, select "Add..." and then browse to the sp4_5.amx file in the update kit folder.
- For the remaining steps follow the instructions on the screen.

You will be asked to reboot this server after applying the update.

6. On any remote client PC:

- Run the Setup.exe program in the update kit folder.
- On the "Setup Type" screen, select "Install Service Pack" and "Next>"
- On the "Service Pack Configuration" screen, select "Add..." and then browse to the sp4_5.amx file in the update kit folder.
- For the remaining steps follow the instructions on the screen.

You will be asked to reboot the client PC after applying the update.

7. Start Neverfail Heartbeat on the passive server, and then on the active server.

8. On a remote client PC, or the ACTIVE server, as appropriate, use the Neverfail Heartbeat Management Client to check that the Neverfail Channel is connected and that a full system check is in progress.

9. To enable and configure Data Rollback Functionality, please refer to sections 2.8.8, 2.8.9 and 2.8.10 of Td-H - Reference Guide - V4.5-02.pdf. This document is included in your installed Neverfail Heartbeat software.
