This article describes a known issue with Neverfail for SQL Server version 4.6

The following are examples of errors that may appear in the Windows system log after starting the Neverfail Heartbeat monitor service. If these are present please see the section at the end of this article.

Ignoring this attribute until Neverfail Monitor Service is restarted or
reconfigured. This error indicates that the attribute is not available from WMI.
To verify the existence of this attribute, use perfmon /wmi. This error may
indicate that an application or its management interface is not correctly
installed. It could also indicate that the WMI service is not responding, in
which case the WMI service and the Neverfail Monitor service should be restarted.

To work around this problem we need to force the transfer of all the performance libraries. To do this follow these steps:

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
3. At the command prompt, type the following command as appropriate for your operating system, and then press ENTER:

Microsoft Windows Server 2003

wmiadap.exe /f

Microsoft Windows 2000

winmgmt /resyncperf

4. At the command prompt, type exit, and then press ENTER to close the command prompt.
