How to Add and Remove Server Pairs

Follow

Summary

This Knowledgebase article provides information about how to add and remove server pairs to the Neverfail Heartbeat Management Client.

More Information

When the Neverfail Heartbeat Management Client is opened (selecting the Neverfail Heartbeat program group of the Program Menu), it displays a logon screen requesting a Username, Password and a server pair IP Address. Before logging on, the system must be told which pair of servers to administer, as by default the Management Client is unaware of the presence of any server pairs. Once a server pair has been added, it will be available in the drop down list.

Procedure

How to Add Server Pairs

  1. Click the Add Pair button.
  2. This invokes a further dialog box asking for an IP address/Host Name and a port number. You should leave the default port number, unless that port is already in use, in which case you should specify an unused one. Please consult Knowledgebase article #831 - How to Change the Client Connection Port, for more information on client management port numbers.
  3. Enter the IP address of any NIC of the active server or the NetBIOS name of the server pair and click the OK button.
  4. The server pair then appears in the list.
