Using Cached Credentials to Logon to the Passive Server in a Neverfail Server Pair

This Knowledgebase article provides information about how the System Administrator can logon to the passive server when the passive server cannot contact the domain controller (DC) for authentication because of the Neverfail Packet Filter.

More Information

After installation of Neverfail and a successful domain logon via the passive server, the passive server will cache the logon information.  This allows a user to logon to the passive server with a domain account even when the domain controller is not available.

Because the user has previously been authenticated, Windows will attempt to use the cached credentials from the last successful logon with a domain account to locally log on the user and allocate access to local computer resources.
