AMX McAfeeGroupShieldExchange2007 - Some Customizations are Not Replicated to the Passive Server

Follow

Summary

This Knowledgebase article provides information about customizations made in the McAfee GroupShield Graphical User Interface (GUI), which are not replicated to the passive server.

More Information

Symptom

Custom configuration changes made in the McAfee GroupShield GUI do not appear to be replicated to the passive server.

Cause

The configuration information is stored in the Cookies directory of the currently logged on user. At AMX install time, Neverfail discovers the location of the currently logged on user and protects that location only.

Resolution

McAfee GroupShield stores personal preferences in the Cookies directory for the user currently logged on. If the current user differs from the user who installed the AMX then their configuration changes will not be protected. Other McAfee GroupShield Administrators should add a filter for their cookie directory. Please see Knowledgebase article #850 - 'How to Specify or Adjust Filters Manually' for more information about how to create file filters.
