Neverfail for File Server Does Not Detect Removal of an Encrypted Flag from a Protected File / Folder

Follow

Summary

This Knowledgebase article provides information about Neverfail for File Server not detecting the removal of an encrypted flag from a protected file/folder.

More Information

Symptom

After removing the encrypted flag from a protected file/folder, Neverfail does not resynchronize the file/folder.

Cause

This is by design as Neverfail detects when a file/folder has been flagged as encrypted and resynchronizes the file/folder.  It is less common to remove the encrypted flag from a file/folder and therefore, manual resynchronization is necessary.

Resolution

When an encrypted flag is removed from a protected file/folder, it is necessary to resynchronize the file/folder manually.  To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. From the Neverfail Heartbeat Management Client, select the Data button and then the Files Synch and Verify tab.
  2. Navigate in the left side of the pane to the folder containing the file/folder.
  3. Click on the Synchronize button to synchronize the file/folder.  If synchronizing a folder, you may select to include subdirectories if necessary.

Applies To

Neverfail Heartbeat v5.0 and Earlier
