    • To assist in LAN/WAN stretch, users can specify an IP address for remote servers and measure bandwidth data

Issues Fixed

Known Issues

  • Prior to upgrading SCOPE Data Collector Service V5.05 x64 EAR to V5.0.8 you must manually uninstall SCOPE Data Collector service V5.0.5 x64 EAR.
    • Workaround: To uninstall SCOPE V5.0.5 x64 EAR perform the following steps:
      1. From a Windows command prompt type: sc stop scopesvc or navigate to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and stop 'Neverfail SCOPE Data Collector' service.
      2. Go to .
      3. Download and run Cleanup Utility to remove SCOPE Collector from your system.
      4. Using Regedit, check for the presence of the following registry key and if present, delete it.

      5. Delete the SCOPE installation directory.

        Note: Do not attempt to upgrade to a higher version of SCOPE Data Collector Service without performing the above procedure.

Installation Information

Installation Procedure

If the Neverfail SCOPE Data Collector Service was not installed as part of Neverfail Heartbeat installation, it can be installed and removed independently. There are separate installer packages for both 32-Bit and 64-Bit versions of Windows.

Note: When upgrading to V5.0.5 from prior versions, if Neverfail Heartbeat has not yet been installed, you should logging to the SCOPE Configuration Tool on each server to verify the remote IP address settings have been retained correctly.

To install the Neverfail SCOPE Data Collector Service, follow the steps below:

  1. Download Neverfail SCOPE from the Neverfail Extranet by going to Products / Downloads -> Neverfail SCOPE and select the appropriate version of SCOPE.
  2. Save the .ZIP installer file to the desired location.
  3. Double-click the .ZIP file and extract the installer file. Please review the Readme.txt file for additional information.
  4. Double-click on the installer file to begin the Installation Wizard. The introductory window appears.
  5. Click Next to begin.
  6. On the following screen, enter the local server identity and click Next .
  7. The next screen allows you to specify the IP address of the remote server. Enter the information as appropriate and click Next .
  8. Click Install to begin the installation. The progress of the installation is viewable on the following screen.
  9. When installation has completed, click Finish .
