To uninstall Neverfail Heartbeat manually, follow the Procedure below.

Procedure
This procedure identifies the manual steps that the Neverfail uninstaller would perform and does not consider server identity (Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary) or role (active or passive).

Stop the Neverfail Heartbeat service. Open a DOS command prompt and type the following command:
net stop NFServerR2

From the Service Control Manager, stop SCOPE Data Collector Service (if running).

Uninstall the packet filter if still present.
NOTE: Ensure that both machines will not be visible on the network at the same time before proceeding.
- Go to Network and Dialup Connections .
- Select a network connection.
- Open the Local Area Connection Properties dialog and see if the Neverfail Packet Filter Driver appears in the list.
- If it appears, select the Neverfail Packet Filter Driver in the list and click Uninstall .
- Close the properties dialogs for the network connection, check the presence of the packet filter on the other network connection(s), and if necessary repeat the uninstall process until the packet filter is uninstalled from all connections.

Uninstall the Neverfail registry driver
HookRegistryDriver
.
- Go to Computer Management and select Device Manager .
- Click View and verify Show Hidden devices is selected.
- In the tree view, expand Non-Plug and Play Drivers .
- Select HookRegistryDriver (if present) in the list, right-click and select Uninstall , click Ok at the prompt, and select not to restart at this moment (the server will be restarted at the end of the procedure).

Execute
Regedit.exe.
IMPORTANT: Always create a backup before modifying the registry. Delete the following registry key (if present):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HookRegistryDriver

Uninstall the Neverfail filter driver
NFDRV
.
- Go to Computer Management and select Device Manager .
- Click View and verify Show Hidden devices is selected.
- In the tree view, expand Non-Plug and Play Drivers .
- Select NFDRV (if present) in the list, right-click and select Uninstall , click Ok at the prompt, and select not to restart at this moment (the server will be restarted at the end of the procedure).

Execute
Regedit.exe.
IMPORTANT: Always create a backup before modifying the registry. Delete the following registry key (if present):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NFDRV

Uninstall the Neverfail filter driver
NFID
.
- Go to Computer Management and select Device Manager .
- Click View and verify Show Hidden devices is selected.
- In the tree view, expand Non-Plug and Play Drivers .
- Select NFID (if present) in the list, right-click and select Uninstall , click Ok at the prompt, and select not to restart at this moment (the server will be restarted at the end of the procedure).

Execute
Regedit.exe.
IMPORTANT: Always create a backup before modifying the registry. Delete the following registry key (if present):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NFID

Uninstall NFServerR2 service.
- Open a DOS command prompt and change directory to: <install_directory>\r2\bin.
- Enter the command: NFServerR2 -r.
- You should see the message Neverfail Server R2 Removed .
- Enter the command: NFStartupApp.exe –r.
- Close the DOS command window (compulsory).

Delete additional registry keys.

Execute
Regedit.exe.
IMPORTANT: Always create a backup before modifying the registry. -
Delete the following registry keys (if present):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Prefs\neverfail
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Neverfail

Execute
Regedit.exe.

Delete the
Neverfail
program group.
- Navigate to and right-click on the Neverfail program group. From the context menu select Delete .
- Delete the Neverfail Heartbeat program files.
- Open Windows Explorer and delete the Neverfail install directory.
- Set the protected application’s services back to Automatic .
- Restart the machine and check that the protected application has started and it is providing service to users.
