Summary
This Knowledgebase article provides information about how to use the maintenance mode of Neverfail Heartbeat.
More Information
You can use maintenance mode to configure protected applications, to enable or disable protection and monitoring, and to perform application maintenance without stopping Neverfail Heartbeat or taking the whole server offline.
NOTE: | Maintenance mode is a feature of Neverfail Heartbeat that is not available in Neverfail Replicator. |
You may be prompted to use maintenance mode when your Neverfail application detects maintenance actions are part of another operation. For example:
Server Service is protected and you run the LogCollector utility from a remote server. Log Collector prompts you to use maintenance mode so LogCollector can access the collected logs on the remote machine, which would be blocked by service monitoring when running in protected mode. After collecting the log, Log Collector automatically exits maintenance mode and returns Neverfail Heartbeat to protected mode.
To use the maintenance mode feature manually, perform the following steps:
- Start the Neverfail Heartbeat Management Client.
-
Navigate to the
Applications
screen, select the
Summary
tab, and click
Configure...
The Applications Configuration dialog opens. - Select Unprotect services and stop monitoring all applications (for manual application maintenance) and click OK.
