Changes Made to Distributed Transaction Coordinator Settings Must be Manually Configured on All Servers

Follow

Summary

This Knowledgebase article provides information about the requirement to manually configure Distributed Transaction Coordinator settings on all servers in the cluster.

More Information

When changing the SQL server Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) settings on the active server, the new configuration settings must be manually configured on other servers in cluster including Transaction timeout, Default Coordinator, and Log information. After changing configuration settings on the active server, failure to manually configure the same settings on other servers in the cluster will cause the DTC service to not start after a switchover.
