When Network Load Balancing (NLB) is configured on a server where Neverfail Heartbeat is installed, Network Load Balancing must be configured to use a separate dedicated Network Interface Card (NIC) for Network Load Balancing operations. Additionally, once Neverfail Heartbeat has been installed, you must remove the Neverfail Packet Filter from the NLB dedicated NIC.

To remove the Neverfail Packet Filter from the NLB dedicated NIC:

  1. Navigate to Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Networking and Sharing > Change Adapter Settings .
  2. Right-click the dedicated Network Load Balancing NIC and select Properties .
  3. Clear the check box for the Neverfail Packet Filter Driver .
  4. Click OK .
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for each server in the Neverfail Cluster.
