Symptoms

On Windows Server 2008 with vCenter Server Heartbeat installed, when vCenter Server Heartbeat starts or stops applications the Windows Server Manager window displays.

Cause

When vCenter Server Heartbeat starts or stops applications, the Windows Task Scheduler automatically runs. By default, the Windows Task Schedular starts the Server Manager task which displays the Server Manager window.

Resolution

Administrators can prevent the Server Manager window from displaying by either clearing the Do not show me this console at log on check box or disabling the Server Manager task in the Task Scheduler of Windows Server 2008.
