This Knowledgebase article provides information about the PlanExecutionFailedEvent alert.
PlanExecutionFailedEvent error logged in the SolarWinds Failover Engine event log and a Red alert is issued.
The expected state following PlanExecutionFailedEvent is:
- Replication is disabled
- The PlanExecutionFailedEvent error is logged
- A PlanExecutionFailedEvent (red) alert is issued once
- Periodic ReplicationStoppedWarningEvent alerts are issued until replication is restarted
This error occurs when a channel disconnects or an error occurs during a user initiated Start Replication , Stop Replication , or Switchover operation. When the PlanExecutionFailedEvent error is thrown, SolarWinds Failover Engine allows the operation to fail and disables replication. This prevents the occurrence of additional errors, including Split-Brain syndrome.
Review the details of the PlanExecutionFailedEvent in the SolarWinds Failover Engine event log ( Event Properties window) to identify the cause. After the cause of the error is resolved, use the SolarWinds Failover Engine Manager to restart replication.
