This AM(X) is compatible with Neverfail Heartbeat V5.1 onwards. Please note it cannot be used with previous versions of Heartbeat.

Symantec Information Foundation Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange 6.0 Web service:

To protect the Web Site configuration fully, Neverfail for IIS should be installed. Alternatively, Administrators can chose to make changes manually by duplicating the IIS configuration changes on the passive server.

  1. Download and extract the appropriate modules from the Neverfail Extranet
    • Neverfail for IIS (optional)
    • Neverfail AMX for SIFMSMSE.
  2. Run the Neverfail Heartbeat Setup.exe.
  3. Follow the on screen instructions.
  4. When prompted, enter a license key that is valid for all required modules.
  5. Proceed through the install, when prompted provide the location of the extracted:
    • IISServer.amx script (optional)
    • SIFMSMSE.amx script
  6. If any of the pre-install checks fail, correct the problem and then
click Back and then Next for the checks to be run.

Upgrading from previous version

If you are upgrading from previous versions of Symantec Mail Security for Exchange 2000 or 2003 then you will need to uninstall the AM(X) for Symantec Mail Security for Exchange before installing this AM(X).

Operational Notes

The Quarantine folder is protected by the AM(X) for SIFMSMSE so Administrators
can continue to manage quarantined items after a switch or failover. If the contents
of the Quarantine folder are not managed and the folder is allowed to grown in size
then full system check times will increase. Neverfail recommend regularly maintaining
the contents of this folder with the Symantec Quarantine Manager.
