A File Filter Must Be Added When Lotus Notes Client is not Installed in the Default Location

Follow

Summary

This Knowledgebase article provides information about installing the Lotus Notes Client in other than the default location (C:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes).

More Information

If the Lotus Notes Client application is installed to a location other than the default installation location (C:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes), an additional file filter must be added to ensure the application is available on the Secondary server should a switchover/failover occur. The following file filter must be added to the 'User Defined' list:

Add <install path>\Notes\**

Note: Installing Lotus Notes Client to a non-default location and adding a file filter as described above will mark some of the existing filters as a S ubset (contained within another filter). This is an expected behaviour as the new 'User Defined' file filter replaces the requirement to explicitly state the following file filters:

C:\LOTUS\NOTES\DATA\**
C:\LOTUS\NOTES\MUI\**
C:\LOTUS\NOTES\XMLSCHEMAS\**
C:\LOTUS\NOTES\*.DAT
C:\LOTUS\NOTES\*.DCX
C:\LOTUS\NOTES\*.DTD
C:\LOTUS\NOTES\*.INI
C:\LOTUS\NOTES\*.REG
