Before you begin you should be sure you have a template type of "Desktop Host" available.
To view the available template(s) begin by going to Workspaces in the left blue menu.
TIP: You can either click the “quick link” as highlighted above, or click into the Workspace and locate the Templates tab along the top.
Once in the templates screen you will see something similar to this next image. Notice there is a template of type "Desktop Host" available.
If the correct template type is not available you will need to clone a new template, review the KB article How to Clone a Template.
Once you have the correct template type available you will begin the actual Desktop Host creation by completing the following steps.
- Select Workspaces from the blue bar on the left side of the screen
- Click on the Workspace in which you want to publish. In this example “Hightimes on Las Vegas”
Once you have clicked into the Workspace screen, you will need to select App Store from the menu bar along the top, and you will be taken to a screen that looks like the image below.
On this page there are three columns titled; Available, Authorized, and Published.
In order to publish a Desktop, using the arrows as shown, you will move items from the Available column, to the Authorized column, and finally to the Published column.
When you move the published desktop from the Authorized column to the Published column you will be presented with the image below.
- Click the drop down
- Select the user group you wish to make the application available to.
- If you do not have a group you can click the "here" button to create one.
After you have selected the group you wish to use the screen will look similar to this next image.
You will now click the Publish button and the screen below will be presented.
When you click on the Republish button as shown in the image above, you will be presented with the dialogue box below.
If you are sure you want to publish a new desktop host, then click the Republish button.
A new Workflow will start to create the new Desktop Host.
