This article provides information on how to backup Neverfail Continuity Engine clusters with Veeam Backup and Replication and Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows, using Passive Node Management feature.
Neverfail Continuity Engine servers should be able to access Veeam Backup and Replication Server in order to be managed remotely from there.
Thus, a Management Name and IP Address must be configured on each node, providing connectivity for Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows to Veeam Backup and Replication Server, when in active or passive role.
Veeam Agent is a software that should be installed on the managed-to-be servers. This agent can be connected to the Veeam Backup and Replication Console providing information related to inventory, etc., as well as means of remote backup job, create recovery media.
From Inventory tab, Right click on Physical & Cloud Infrastructure and Add Protection group.
This can be done in two ways:
Here's an example of expected behavior when Neverfail Engine clusters changes the active server (switchover):
Management Identity configuration:
Physical Hardware Identity |
Management Name |
Public Name |
---|---|---|
Primary | ag-veeam-p | AG-Veeam |
Secondary | ag-veeam-s | AG-Veeam |
Assets before switchover displayed in Veeam Backup And Replication Console using both configurations:
Assets after switchover displayed in Veeam Backup And Replication Console using both configurations:
All the Engine Cluster nodes registered in Veeam Backup And Replication Console can be backed up no matter if they're active or passive.
