Continuity Engine Desktop Widget Tool

Continuity Engine Desktop Widget Tool

Summary

This knowledgebase article provides usage information about the Engine desktop widget tool.

Usage

Name: nfdesktopwidget.exe located in C:\Program Files\Neverfail\R2\bin

By default the widget tool will integrate with the new SysTray and will register the command to toggle widget on/off via the SysTray.
Whatever command you used to start the widget (including arguments, so colors, text size, etc) should all be saved in the command to be used from SysTray. Once the widget command is registered you should be able to toggle the widget on/off via the SysTray ‘Toggle widget’ command (which only becomes visible if you have a command registered, so you need to run the widget at least once beforehand so it can register itself).

List usage: nfdesktopwidget.exe --help
Notes:
By default the tool will register itself with the SysTray with whatever arguments you last ran the tool. So when you ran with --text-color white it replaced the SysTray command with your arguments
The tool always registers to SysTray tool so you can have the latest version of the command, with the latest flags you’ve linked.
There’s no on or off command, you just run it one more time. If it was already running previously both instances (the one that was running previously plus the one you just started) will stop.
Toggling via SysTray just runs the widget tool again: The desktop widget tool itself - when started - checks to see if there’s another instance of widget tool running and if so, it will terminate both instances. So in order to “toggle” the widget on and off you run it again.
