How to Configure A Management IP Address On A Server Running Neverfail Continuity Engine
Summary
This Knowledgebase article provides information on how to configure a management IP address in a Neverfail Continuity Engine environment.
The management IP address should be a static IP address from the same or different subnet with server’s Public/Production IP address (recommended: in the same subnet as Public IP) and should be unique to each server. The management IP address for each server should be configured through the Neverfail Configure Server Wizard UI under the Management tab. The NIC selected for storing the Management IP should be the same NIC that stores the Public/Production IP address because that NIC already has the Gateway and DNS servers configured on it.
Procedure
To configure a management IP address please perform the steps below:
1. Stop Neverfail Engine (this can be done in 3 ways: from Engine's tray icon, from its Advanced Management Client UI or from Windows Services console).
2. Open Neverfail Configure Server Wizard UI by choosing Stop Webservices option when prompted.
3. Go on the Management tab and under the Management IP click the button which will insert a new row.
4. In the new window that opens select the Public/Production Adapter\NIC and then type the Management IP and its Subnet Mask.
5. Click the Edit and then the Finish button to save the new settings.
6. Restart Neverfail Engine. Once Engine is restarted it will apply the Management IP address on the Public/Production NIC and you can see this by running an ipconfig /all command in an elevated command promopt
