How to protect MiCC Enterprise using Neverfail Engine

Summary

This KB article explains how to protect the Mitel MiCC Enterprise application with Neverfail Continuity Engine. The article focuses only on the MiCC Enterprise app suite as the SQL, IIS, and File Server application will be protected by using appropriate Neverfail Engine Plugins.

Prerequisites

All the Mitel MiCC Enterprise services and configuration must be done prior to following the steps below.
Neverfail Engine must be deployed normally (as described in the Neverfail Installation Guide). This will make Neverfail EMS web console to automatically deploy the Neverfail plugins for SQL, IIS and File Server applications. For adding the MiCC Enterprise application to Neverfail Engine protected set of application please follow the procedure below.

Procedure

The steps below must be performed on the Primary Active server.

  1. Login to Windows with an account which was used when installing Neverfail Engine or with another user that is a Trusted Client of Neverfail Engine. For more details about trusted clients please see this KB article: https://support.neverfail.com/portal/en/kb/articles/neverfail-trusted-clients
  2. Create a Temp folder on C drive (C:\Temp)
  3. Download and unzip the attached batch file to the C:\Temp folder
  4. Run the batch file under administrator rights.
  5. Once the batch completes it will generate 3 log files in the C:\Temp folder. Please open each one of them and make sure the scripts were successful.

6. Repeat the steps above if the MiCC solution is distributed across multiple servers.
At the end of this procedure, Neverfail Engine will contain the MiCC Enterprise Services, Folders and Registry into its protected set.

Applies to

Neverfail Engine 9.0 and MiCC Enterprise.
