How to remove Neverfail Engine Web Services from a Continuity Engine deployment
Summary
This Knowledgebase article provides information about how to remove Neverfail Engine Web Services from a Continuity Engine deployment while keeping the Neverfail Engine Service installed and running.
Important notes:
- This practice is not recommended as many of Engine's features will be disabled once the web services are removed.
- No management via EMS will be available once the web services are removed.
- Once removed, the webservices cannot be reinstalled. Complete Engine installation is required in order to restore the Engine web services.
Procedure
Perform the following steps on each Continuity Engine node in the cluster, in order to remove Neverfail Engine Web Services:
- Stop Neverfail Engine Web Services service.
- Remove the Neverfail Engine Web Services using the command prompt
- Open the Command Prompt as an administrator by searching for “cmd” in the Windows search bar, then right-clicking on it and selecting “Run as administrator”.
- Navigate to the Tomcat installation directory
- CMD> cd "C:\Program Files\Neverfail\tomcat\apache-tomcat-9.x.xx\bin"
- Run the following command to remove the nfwebsvc service
- CMD> service.bat uninstall nfwebsvc
- Delete the "C:\Program Files\Neverfail\tomcat" folder
