About Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins suite
Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins suite consists of six plug-ins bundled together to support Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5. Each plug-in addresses specific functions and services for the various components of Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 protected by Neverfail IT Continuity Engine.
Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins proactively monitor the Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 environment. Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins provide protection for all associated Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 configuration data, services, and application data files.
- Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 U4
- Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 U3
- running on any of the supported operating systems listed below:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2016
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
Known Issues
- A hotfix for Veeam Backup & Replication Server 9.5 caused Veeam Backup Service not starting as it's first in the list and requires Veeam Broker Service to be started first. As there is no dependency defined between Veeam Backup Service and Veeam Broker Servce, the Veeam Broker Service is not started even if it's clearly required. Workaround: From Advanced Management Client > Applications > Services change the service start/stop order as desired using Move up/Move down arrows. (EN-3536)
- When Rescan backup repositories and Rescan scale-out backup repositories rules are evaluating, the other tasks are postponed until the rule returns a result. The duration of the rule evaluation depends on environment, number of repositories and their response time. (EN-3528)
Monitoring
Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins Suite provides application protection intelligence, as follows:
- Application Service Availability Monitoring
- Application Health and Performance Monitoring
- Application Data and Configuration Monitoring and Replication
Application Service Availability Monitoring
Neverfail Engine monitors services specified by the plug-ins to ensure application availability. In the event that a specified service stops or fails, Neverfail Engine can take up to three pre-configured actions to remedy the issue. When the plug-in is installed, all protected services will be set to manual unless otherwise stated.
Each configurable Veeam Backup & Replication role is protected by a corresponding plug-in; following section enumerates the list of the services protected by each of the plug-ins in the suite:

The protected data set is initially discovered and configured at installation time; subsequently the data set is being monitored - any detected change will be replicated and applied on the stand-by passive servers.
Install/Uninstall the Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins Via the Neverfail Advanced Management Client
The Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins can be installed either via the Neverfail CE deployment process or by using Application -> Plugins in the Neverfail Advanced Management Client using the procedure below. Neverfail recommends that for initial deployments of Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins, installation should be performed using Engine Management Service.
To manually install the Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins, follow the steps below:
- Unzip the Neverfail Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plug-ins to the desired location.
- Launch the Neverfail Advanced Management Client.
- Navigate to Application-> Plugins.
- Click on the Install
- Click the Browse button and navigate to the location of the <plug-in name>.dll file.
- Click OK to complete the installation.
- Repeat this process for each one of the individual plug-ins.
To remove/uninstall the Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Plugins, follow the steps below:
- Launch the Neverfail Advanced Management Client.
- Navigate to Application-> Plugins.
- Select the desired plug-in to be removed/uninstalled.
- Click on the Uninstall button in the 'Plugins' pane.
- When the plug-in is uninstalled, the files are not removed. This is by design for future functionality and therefore the following workaround is provided:
- Copy the contents of the r2\plugins\<sponsor>\<version>folder to a different location (e.g. C:\temp).
- Delete the contents of the r2\plugins\<sponsor>\<version>folder.
- To reinstall the plug-in, when prompted for the location of the plug-in files, navigate to the new folder location (e.g. C:\temp).
Note: As an alternative, reinstallation can be accomplished by using the downloaded files from the original download location after removing the plug-in.
Important: After installation of the Veeam Backup & Replication Plug-in, you can configure a username and password via the Edit Plug-ins dialog. This account will be used by the tasks and rules defined by the plugin instead of the Local System account configured by default at plugin installation.
