How to Retrieve the Neverfail Engine Logs from the Passive Server.

This need only be done when the logs have been requested by support.

Procedure

To retrieve Neverfail Heartbeat logs from the passive server, follow the steps below:

  1. At the console of the active server run the following commands, substituting
    the relevant directories where appropriate:

    C:\net use \\passive.channel.ip.address /user:administrator

    C:\copy \\passive.channel.ip.address\NFInstallDrive$\NeverfailInstallDir\R2\logs\*.* c:\temp\neverfail\passive

  2. A directory c:\temp\neverfail\active should then be created for the active server's logs. The directory should then be zipped up and sent to support.

When a management IP address exists on the passive server, then the logs are simply copied from the passive to a remote client via explorer.
